パイロット夫妻のカリフォルニア生活 Napa Couple Flying High
Japan
There are reasons why we enjoy every minute and are appreciative for what we do for a living. We have had taken a detour in our past to get to where we are now by moving to Japan after aviation industry got hit hard by September 11th. We lived in Japan for about three years and could not fly all those years. After having several kinds of jobs, Peter was fortunately offered a job in Japan Airlines as a ground instructor for pilot trainees to teach them aviation English before they are sent to flight training in Napa. He was recommended from Mr. Nakamura in Japan Airlines who we had known from one of our previous jobs in a JAL group company. While Peter taught aviation English to trainees he also struggled to suppress the passion he had toward flying and was reminded everyday that he misses being inside a cockpit. He talked to trainees about how beautiful it is to fly in Bay Area everyday and tried to inspire them to the joys of flying. It was matter of time that we had to try to get back to flying when we had any kind of opportunity.
