DER	Designated Engineering Representative	Person delegated and designated from FAA to provide and/or recommend an approval on the developed airborne equipment.

GEOSS	Global Earth Observation System of Systems	On February 16, 2005, 61 countries agreed to a plan that, over the next 10 years, they will revolutionize the understanding of Earth and how it works. An agreement for a 10-year implementation plan for a Global Earth Observation System of Systems, known as GEOSS, was reached by member countries of the Group on Earth Observations at the Third Observation Summit held in Brussels.
GOSAT	Greenhouse Gases Observing Satellite	It will equip a Fourier Transform Spectrometer(FTS) to measure the column concentration of CO₂ and CH₄ and Cloud and Aerosol Imager(CAI) to improve the accuracy of the measurement.

OCO	Orbiting Carbon Observatory	US greenhouse gapes observation Satellite scheduled to launch at 2008. It measures CO₂ and O₂.
