The 15th World Children's Haiku Contest 'Living Things' (in Mongolia) Comments
第15回 世界こどもハイクコンテスト「いきもの」 モンゴル大会 講評

Haiku poem competition was organized widely in this year. Totally about 1360 poems from 35 secondary schools including urban and countryside were submitted. In this competition, there were several features and advantages in the selection as follows:

• 1. Quality improvement is getting better due to participants were prepared by technology and Mongolian and literature teachers to the Haiku poem competition
• 2. Urban and countryside schools’ participants submit their poems also there were not less private participants poems.
• 3. Selection of poems had 2 steps. In the first step, 360 poems from 1360 were selected according to their contents, drawing description of its meaning by the professional teachers and administration of school. In the second step, 8 poems for the best, 30 poems for the special ranks from the 360 were selected by the 3 referees.

We will organize the exhibition and to create board of honor using those 38 poems to the audience. It will be great courage to the next participants of the competition.
Organizing this competition in Mongolia increases the knowledge of Haiku poem of Mongolian children. It is clear that it has great significance for the participants of this competition.

今年の俳句大会は広範囲で行われました。都市部と地方の両方にある35の中学校から約1360句の応募がありました。今回の大会にはいくつかの特徴と選をする際の利点がありました。

• １）質の向上が見られ、その要因として、技術、モンゴル語、文学の先生たちが俳句大会に応募する生徒たちの準備に当たったことが挙げられます。
• ２）都市部と地方の学校からの応募がありました。個人応募も少なくありませんでした。
• ３）選考は二段階に分けて行われました。第一段階では、句の内容と如何に俳句に即した絵が描かれているかを見る専門の先生たちと学校の経営陣により1360作品の中から360作品が選出されました。第二段階では3人の選者が、大賞8句と30句の入賞作品をその360作品の中から選出しました。

この38作品を展示する掲示板を作り、展示会を開催いたします。次回に応募しようとする生徒たちの励みとなることでしょう。
モンゴルでこの俳句大会を行うことにより、モンゴルの子どもたちの間に俳句という詩形の知識が増えていきます。この大会に参加した子どもたちにとって、大会はとても重要な意味があったことは明白です。
