The JAL Scholarship Program invites university students from the Asia-Oceania region to Japan to promote understanding of Japan and international understanding and develop the next generation of leaders through international exchanges, field work and research, and cultural activities with Japanese students. The program was initiated by Japan Airlines in 1975 and was transferred to the JAL Foundation (formerly Nikko Foundation), when it was established in 1990. We have continuously improved the content of the program to meet the needs of the times. A total of 1,664 overseas students have participated in the program to date.
