A well-deserved award for a synesthetic haiku – the visual (sunrise, tree) and the auditory (song) merge, creating a complete sensory experience, in which the sunrise symbolizes the new beginning, hope and light, and the bird's song is the bridge between the earthly (tree) and the heavenly (sun). A harmonious combination of the wonderful watercolor drawing with good composition and pleasant coloring with the philosophical text of the haiku, which fits perfectly graphically into the painting. The warm golden-brown tones of the robin perched on the branch reinforce in the observer the corresponding warm, soul-warming feeling of gratitude for the shared harmony, humility and presence in the present moment. Looking at this idyllic painting, we seem to hear the bird's song and become one with nature and the Creator. The message is universal: happiness does not require possession, but gratitude, the bird that does not just "sing" but "gives thanks" is the embodiment of pure existence, in which natural instinct becomes a conscious spiritual act.
