パパと夏休みのプールか海に行ったのだろう。初めての泳ぎにパパの手にしがみつく。水の上に出たり沈んでしまったり。パパの手が本当に頼りなのである。それにしてもこの子の表情に惹かれる。水面すれすれにもの凄く恐くてしかたない目がウルウルとしている。それを見守って支えているパパの腕は逞しい。パパの指はこの子の腕をしっかりと握っている。娘と父の本当に愛し合っている姿に感動さえ覚える作品。

I assume she went to a swimming pool or the sea with her father on summer vacation. She clings to her father’s hands at her first swim. Going in and out of the waterline. Father’s hands are really the ones to rely on. I was fascinated by the child’s expression. Just above the waterline, her fearful eyes look almost in tears. On the contrary, the arms of the father watching and supporting her are strong. Father’s fingers are grabbing the child’s arms firmly. This work moves us by depicting the daughter and father’s genuine love for each other.
