The drawing perfectly captures the mysterious and slightly mystical atmosphere of the cave. The use of dark and light tones creates a sense of depth and emphasizes the moonlight or the glow at the entrance. The composition, featuring two children from behind, draws the viewer into their adventure. The stylized bats in the top right add a fun, childlike element to the otherwise dramatic landscape. The included haiku poem does not simply describe the picture, but captures the invisible – the sound of the echo and the moment of waking up.
