A children's drawing filled with mysticism and beauty. The silhouette of the whale's tail rising above the dark waters creates a sense of freedom, strength and mystery. This majestic behavior of whales in biology is called “tail sailing”. Typically, when a whale prepares for a deep descent into the ocean, it arches its body downward at a steep angle. Lifting the massive tail above the water provides additional strength helping it sink faster and easier to great depths. The contrast between the deep marine tones and the light in the sky emphasizes the meeting between the visible and the invisible, between the depths and the infinity. The haiku brings a sense of inner stillness and dynamics like a song born from the very heart of the ocean. The artwork successfully conveys the beauty of nature, its immensity and its ability to awaken contemplation and imagination.
