作者の絵から、私たちの家族は、現在私たちを取り巻いている人々、例えば私たちの両親や兄弟だけで構成されているわけではなく、もうこの世にいない私たちの祖先も含まれることを表現しているように思います。祖先は、生きている私たちの記憶の中で、共にいます。多くのアジア文化で大切にされている祖先崇拝の特徴を示しています。その目的は、生者と死者を家族として不可分の絆で結びつける、とても強を維持することにあります。

Our families consist not only of the people who currently surround us, such as our parents or siblings. Family also includes our relatives who are no longer with us, but still accompany us in our memories. The author's drawing complements this idea with features that point to ancestor worship, which is practiced in many Asian cultures and aims to maintain an intense emotional bond that connects the living and the dead members of a family inseparably.
